Consumer Advocacy

HHPA is an active leader in consumer advocacy for the hearing impaired.  An example is our national association’s Hearing Aid Helpline.  Each year, hundreds of individuals and families are assisted by the Helpline through a variety of services, at no cost to the consumer.  

The Helpline provides a referral service for locating qualified hearing healthcare professionals.  While the Helpline does not provide direct financial assistance, it is able to provide guidance to potential financial resources.  Additionally, the Helpline mediates consumer complaints.  

Throughout its history, HHPA has also sought to establish and foster ongoing dialogues with other associations, such as those representing senior citizens, in an attempt to promote greater public awareness and understanding of the benefits of hearing instrumentation.
